Beeman RX-2 Gas Spring Air Rifles
Beeman RX-2 Air Guns utilize a 'gas spring' to propel lead airgun pellets more efficiently and with less vibration than a standard steel coil mainspring. The gas-spring in Beeman RX2 Air Rifles is similar in concept to an air filled shock absorber used in place of the conventional metal mainspring. The Beeman RX-2 is a tried and true barrel break design and is cocked like any other barrel cocking airgun. But the single cocking stroke of these air guns compresses a cylinder of air instead of a steel spring. When you squeeze the trigger the trapped compressed air expands and forces main piston forward. Completely unlike pneumatic or CO2 air guns, the trapped air is never expelled. And, of cource, the "gas spring" cannot take a set or tire with age like a convential steel spring.
Another advantage of the gas spring system of the Beeman RX-2's is that there is less mass to move when the airgun is fired. This results in a very short lock time, and therefore reduced barrel time, increasing accuracy potential. All high velocity air rifles have a somewhat of a jolt when fired, but the short lock time of the RX-2 definitely improves field accuracy because there is less time for the airgunner to pull the gun off target.
Current Beeman RX2 Air Rifles feature a tough laminated hardwood stock that has the famous Beeman long forearm for looks and function. Beeman RX-2's also feature a rubber butt pad, grip cap, with nice white line spacers. The Beeman airgun trigger is crisp and predictable as always, and the automatic safety is located at the front of the cast metal trigger guard.
